Our emotional selves

Uncategorized Aug 21, 2021

It's pretty amazing how our body holds onto memories and transplants them as neurological and emotional reactions at times when we wouldn't think it would be appropriate.

Our body has this amazing ability to have a blueprint of wired responses that we get when we have a strong enough emotional reaction to something.

I could ramble on about it here, but if you have the time, do yourself a favour and go and watch this 30 minute video with Joe Dispenza, where he dives into the how and why of our emotional selves and how we get stuck in the same pattern 95% of the time.

Even though I've known this for a long time, his explanation of it really makes it super simple to understand.

As a mum, there are so many triggers that go on in our day to day that can create a stress response, that if it is big enough, becomes our go to response if we have stress occurring all the time.

And it's up to us to choose to change it.

To recognise it.

To stop.

To change the response.

To neurologically give our brain the message that we don't want to react that way anymore.

The ways we can create calm in our day.

The way we can begin to infuse more joy when we can stop and recognise the triggers.

We've been told by society that there are so many reasons we should be angry or upset all the time.

Expectations of ourselves.

Expectations of our kids.

Where did those expectations come from?

I'd love you to take a pause this week and reflect on this for yourself. You are amazing mama, and you deserve to let your INNATE shine through.

It's normal to express emotions. It's what makes us human. It's these emotions, this anger, this frustration, this love, this fun, this empathy... these are the things that give us a human existence.

We've been told that only certain emotions are allowed as mum's, and that is BS. However we can bring more mindfulness, acknowledgement of our emotions, and changing our reactions when they don't meet the situation.

These small steps are how we begin to change our day.

I hope you get a chance to change a response, change your brain and reflect on where you would like to bring more mindfulness into your practice!

Much Mama Love
